Synopsis

Before The End

The Reckoning is set in the last uneasy days before the world fully unravels: a tribulation, not yet an ending. A government bioweapon has already begun its work, and the sky itself feels like a warning.

Samuel, the younger brother, clings to his faith and hope for redemption. Jude, hardened by loss and the brutal realities of survival, has embraced a more pragmatic, ruthless approach. As resources dwindle and the bond between them frays, their fragile existence is tested further when a wounded, uninvited stranger enters their lives, bringing both risk and opportunity neither brother is prepared for.

Why This Film Exists

Faith Endures

Writer/director Dan Lennox built The Reckoning around two brothers, Samuel and Jude, who begin as a clash of opposing survival philosophies before an uninvited stranger, Mac, arrives to put both beliefs to the test.

Set in a world tipping toward its final tribulation, the film's real subject is universal: how people carry loss, live with uncertainty, and hold onto meaning as everything familiar comes undone. Lennox describes the story as an exploration of faith in the broadest sense: not only religious faith, but faith in other people, in the possibility of forgiveness, and in a future worth staying alive for.
